My name is Mel Goold. I’ve spent the past several years as a professional film and video editor. I’d love to help make your vision come to life.
I’m currently available for pre-production, production, and post-production work.
Mood.
It’s all about the mood. What the audience see and what they hear are meant to evoke emotion. What makes that emotion really hit home is this: a clear vision throughout the process. I know how to carry this vision from start to finish.
My cut of Message in a Bottle’s best shots of 2020.
After graduating with a degree in Film and Video Production, I spent some time living. Then I got myself into a job in wedding videography, where I honed my cinematic and editor’s eye. Through my professional and personal works, I gained a working knowledge of information, tone, and timing.
My cut of a promo for the USASF’s Worlds event.
Expertise.
Your vision deserves knowledge and experience. You can have that by working with an expert. I’ve spent years developing my rapport with a range of clients: financial experts, industry leaders, couples on their happiest day, filmmakers, musicians, and more. I’d love for you to join us.
Technical Skills
I’ve worked with industry-leading equipment and software, honing my skills and carving my own style. Knowledge of a wide range of gear, inside and out allows me to charge through a project on time every time.
Storytelling Intuition
Videos and film are crafted in 3 stages: Writing, Producing, and Editing. To be a filmmaker, one needs to be a storyteller. One has to know what information to tell and, more importantly, how it’s told. In my off-time, I write films. Even in that beginning step, I’m thinking of the entire rest of the process, down to every detail.
A Love of the Process
One last ingredient that any chef will tell you is a must: love. I love the whole process of making a film or video. From the idea, to writing it, being on set making it happen, and finally putting all the pieces together in the edit.
Making impactful film and video is a monumental task. It requires a dedicated love of the craft to show up and do what needs to be done.
So, now that you know a bit more about me….
